ARE YOU AN INTERESTED STUDENT?

All first-year Ph.D. graduate students are accepted into the Graduate Division Umbrella program without making a commitment to any specific department or training program. Similarly, M.D. Ph.D. student are matriculated into the Medical Scientist Training Program. If you are interested in rotating in our lab prior to a mutually-decided decision, please reach out as follows:

ARE YOU A POSTDOC OR TECHNICIAN APPLICANT?

We are on the lookout for post-docs and research associates/technicians interested at the interface of cancer biology and immunology, with the career goals in academia or developing transition to biotech/industry or further schooling. If you are interested, please reach out as follows:

If we like your application, we will set up a time for a video conference call through Einstein HR. This will take 30 mins~1 hour. At this stage, we might reach out directly to your references. For postdocs, if we think you may be a good fit, we might invite you out for an on-site interview. The on-site interview will likely take up an entire day. It will involve a job presentation in addition to one-on-one discussions with Dr. Hegde as well as others in the department, including faculty, peer post-docs, as well as graduate students and staff.

Successful research associate/technician applicants will have:

• B.A. or B.S in Biology, Immunology, Genetics, or related field
• Familiarity with basic procedures in handling chemicals, DNA/RNA, and standard lab equipment
• Some prior demonstrable experience with lab bench work
• Experience working with, or openness to work with mice.
• Some experience with Linux/MacOS operating system
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Exceptions are always considered for highly motivated, enthusiastic applicants from non-traditional backgrounds!

Successful post-doc applicants will have:

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, BioEngineering, Cancer Biology, Developmental Biology, or related biology field.
• Experience with tissue culture, mouse work, NGS library preparation, and/or single-cell sequencing.
• At least one first author or co-first author manuscript with accepted, or published status in peer-reviewed journals; alternatively a preprinted manuscript.
• Some experience with Linux/MacOS and either of the following programming languages: R, Python
• Exceptions are always considered for highly motivated, enthusiastic applicants from non-traditional backgrounds!
