Mrunal Desai is a Research Technician in the Hegde Laboratory at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She received her M.S. in Bioengineering from the University of California-San Diego (UCSD), where she trained in the laboratory of Dr. Shweta Joshi at the Moores Cancer Center studying Syk inhibition as a strategy to reprogram tumor-associated macrophages and overcome gemcitabine-induced immunosuppression in pancreatic cancer. Her research interests focus on how tumor inflammation and cancer therapies reshape myeloid cell function, and how targeting this reprogramming can enhance anti-tumor immunity.
